Mersen at the Paris Air Show: what to expect?

Advanced materials

Mersen, a global expert in advanced materials, offers a wide range of solutions designed for the aerospace and defence industries.

Its high-performance range includes isostatic graphite (of which Mersen is the world's leading producer), extruded graphite, pyrocarbon, flexible and rigid carbon insulators, CFC composites and sintered silicon carbide (SSiC).

To enhance the performance and durability of its materials, Mersen carries out various treatments: impregnations, SiC coatings, purification to less than 5 ppm.

AS9100 certified, Mersen has been collaborating on government and military programmes for over ten years.

Power distribution and Electrial protection solutions

In the demanding aerospace industry, every component must combine performance, reliability and lightness. Mersen meets these requirements by developing cutting-edge technological solutions specially designed for semiconductor-based power electronic equipment. Among these solutions:

Bus Bars & Assemblies

In aerospace systems, where performance, reliability, and space efficiency are paramount, laminated bus bars offer a highly effective power distribution solution. Designed to operate in extreme environments—from the high altitudes of fighter jets to the vacuum of space—these bus bars ensure stable electrical performance under thermal and mechanical stress. Their compact, layered construction reduces wiring complexity, minimizes EMI, and can even double as structural components, helping to meet the stringent weight and space constraints of aircraft and spacecraft.

Cooling Solutions

In the aerospace industry, effective thermal management is crucial due to high power densities, compact system designs, and extreme environmental conditions. Products like liquid cooling plates and air heat sinks (circular, double-sided, and machined) play a vital role in dissipating heat from critical electronic components.

Flash electrolytic capacitors

Xenon flash lamps provide intense, brief light for safety, industrial, and photographic uses. They rely on electrolytic capacitors to deliver rapid energy bursts. Mersen offers customizable capacitors, including models that operate in extreme cold—down to -55°C—ideal for aeronautical lighting systems.
